Man in City Heights sex assault try sought

SAN DIEGO - San Diego police are searching for a man suspected of trying to sexually assault a woman walking in City Heights.

According to police, on June 11, the woman was walking in the 3900 block of 33rd Street when a man attacked her from behind. The woman was knocked down and police said the man tried to sexually assault her but a vehicle drove down the street and likely scared him off.

The suspected attacker was last seen running westbound on University Avenue.

No detailed description of the suspected attacker was immediately available, but police released a photo of a person of interest.

Police said investigators are trying to determine if this assault is somehow related to attempted sexual assaults in North Park on June 17 and June 21.
