SAN DIEGO - A 23-year-old man was recovering from a gunshot wound to his head he suffered in the Kearny Mesa area of San Diego, a police sergeant said Sunday.
Police were called to the 3200 block of Atlas Street at 10:23 p.m. Saturday after neighbors heard one loud "pop" sound, said San Diego police Sgt. L. Taylor.
When officers arrived they discovered a 23-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head, Taylor said.
"He was transported to a local trauma center with a life-threatening injury," the sergeant said.
There was no suspect information, Taylor said.
