Man Hit In Face With Garden Hoe During Fight

San Diego police on Saturday were investigating a fight that broke out amid a card game in Linda Vista in which one gambler hit another in the face with a garden hoe.

A 39-year-old man was taken to a hospital with a facial cut after the fight, which occurred at about 9:35 p.m. Friday in 6600 block of Tait Street, San Diego police Officer David Stafford said.The victim, who believed that he had been cheated, started a fight, but a 31-year-old man grabbed a hoe and struck him in the face with it, Stafford said.The names of both men were withheld.
