SAN DIEGO - Authorities have released the identity of a 34- year-old man fatally stabbed to death early Monday.

Michael Gabriel Hallmann, of San Diego, was found by police at 5:34 a.m. in front of a home with several stab wounds in the 5000 block of Sterling Court.

Paramedics arrived and transported Hallmann to a local hospital where he died at 7:12 a.m.

The incident is being investigated as a homicide.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was involved in a fight in front of one of the homes on Sterling Court. It is unknown who he was fighting with or why.

There is no suspect description. The crime motive is not known.
