San Diego police are investigating a shooting outside of a child's birthday party in Otay Mesa that left one man dead.

On Saturday at about 4:20 p.m., police were called to investigate the shooting in the 3400 block of Alonquin Way.
The male victim, identified as 28-year-old Reynaldo Bonoan, was found lying in a driveway with an apparent gunshot wound, according to witnesses. 10News learned Bonoan was shot in the back.
Police said Bonoan had returned to the birthday party after running an errand. The victim parked on Churrituck Drive and was walking on Alonquin Way when he was shot, according to police.
Witnesses told police at least four people were spotted leaving the scene in a white Mitsubishi vehicle following the gunfire. The suspected gunman was described as a black male, 18 to 20 years old, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 180 pounds. The man was wearing a red plaid shirt and long khaki shorts, police said.
