SAN DIEGO - A man passed out and died Friday at a Clairemont mall, apparently due to natural causes, authorities reported.
A 911 caller reported shortly before 10 a.m. that a companion had lost consciousness and stopped breathing while seated in a passenger seat of a car parked in front of a Pick Up Stix restaurant at Clairemont Town Square, according to San Diego police.
Medics tried in vain to revive the man before pronouncing him dead at the scene. His name and age were not immediately available.
There appeared to be nothing suspicious about the fatality, SDPD public-affairs Officer Jim Johnson said. The county Medical Examiner's Office was called in to take custody of the body for autopsy and identification purposes.
