SAN FRANCISCO - Investigators are trying to determine how a man who was found crushed to death by an elevator at a Bay Area Rapid Transit station in San Francisco managed to get into the elevator shaft.

KGO-TV reports that a man reported Sunday night that he heard a crunching sound and yelp as he rode the elevator up at the Montgomery Street station. The station also handles San Francisco light-rail trains.
