SAN DIEGO -
A 30-year-old man crossing a University Heights street against the light was struck by a vehicle and critically injured, police said.
The accident on Washington Street at Cleveland Avenue occurred at about 2:25 a.m. Saturday, Officer Dino Delimitros said.
The victim, whose name was not released, was walking north across Washington against a "do not walk" light, Delimitros said.
A woman driving west hit the man, who was taken to a hospital with what police called life-threatening injuries.
