Man attacked in alley in Colina Del Sol

A 37-year-old man escaped with non-life threatening injuries when he was stabbed in the stomach and back as well as hit in the head with a hammer during a fight with a suspect in an alley in the Colina Del Sol section of San Diego, a police officer said Sunday.

At approximately 10:15 p.m. on Saturday, the victim was in the east alley of the 4200 block of 48th Street when a car, occupied by a man and a woman, drove by, according to Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police
Department.

The male driver got out of the vehicle and began arguing with the victim, according to Heims The argument escalated into a fight and the victim was stabbed in the back and stomach with a knife, Heims said. The suspect then got into his car and drove away, according to Heims.

The suspect then came back around, stopped the car -- described as a red Pontiac --and started fighting with the victim again, hitting him in the head with a hammer, he said. The suspect got into his car and left, according to Heims.

Paramedics rushed the victim to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, he said.

The suspect was described a bald, clean shaven Latino man in his 30s with one arm full of tattoos. He had no shirt on and was wearing black pants. His passenger was described a a Latino woman with long black hair.
