Man arrested after 3-hour standoff in Linda Vista

SAN DIEGO - An unarmed man was arrested early Friday after a 3-hour standoff in Linda Vista.

The standoff began with a vehicle pursuit on the 2200 block of Judson Street around 9:20 p.m. Thursday and ended 12 minutes later after the suspect's vehicle hit a parked car. The suspect then ran into the apartment, said San Diego Police Department Officer David Stafford.

Stafford said 10-12 officers were outside the apartment in the 1900 block of Westinghouse Street before the standoff ended at 12:45 a.m.

Stafford was unable to explain what triggered the pursuit.

A woman and children were evacuated from the apartment around 11 p.m. Thursday.
