Man arrested, accused of shooting at children in Ramona home

RAMONA - A 26-year-old suspect accused of firing a gun at a man and two children at a Ramona home was captured early Friday morning.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department reports that 26-year-old Brandon Quiroz allegedly fired several shots at a man and two children as they tried to duck for cover just after 9 p.m. in the 200 block of 3rd Street before he fled. No one was hurt.

At 3:19 a.m. Friday, deputies discovered Quiroz walking near the intersection of Pile and Pamo roads. He was carrying a loaded .357 revolver, ammunition and spent shell casings, the sheriff’s department said.

Deputies did not confirm if the victims and suspect knew each other. A motive for the shooting was not confirmed.

Quiroz was arrested on four counts of attempted murder, three counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count of shooting at an inhabited dwelling.
