Man accused of slashing transient's neck in custody

Attack occurred at 1549 El Prado in Balboa Park

SAN DIEGO - A 35-year-old man was in custody Friday, accused of slashing a fellow transient in the neck with a knife during a fight in Balboa Park, police said.

The knife attack at 1549 El Prado was reported at 10:04 p.m. Thursday, according to San Diego police Officer David Stafford.

The victim was a 60-year-old man who was taken to a local trauma center to treat a non-life threatening injury, Stafford said.

The suspect was taken into custody at the scene, he said.
