A security guard at an East County mall is recovering Monday morning after being beaten while on foot patrol.

The guard was walking on the second level of a parking structure at Grossmont Center Mall around 10 p.m. Sunday night when he attacked by at least two men.The guard was able to use his radio to call for help. La Mesa police and the La Mesa fire department responded to the scene and found the guard on the ground near a wall.The guard was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.According to La Mesa police, the guard was unable to give a description of his attackers because he was caught off guard and the attack happened so fast.Copyright Do you have more information about this story?
