GREENSBURG, Ind. - A tractor-trailer went airborne before crashing and exploding on a freeway in Indiana.
The crash happened at about 1:40 p.m. Thursday when troopers said the semi driver was forced off the roadway.
Troopers said 30-year-old Ryan Young, of Owenton, Ky., was heading east and approaching an exit when another driver drifted into his lane.
Young tried to swerve to avoid the other vehicle and ran off the south side of the interstate and the semi ran up a hill through a guardrail.
Troopers said the semi continued east and went airborne. The tractor-trailer struck another guardrail and that caused its fuel tanks to ignite.
The amazing video was captured by a dashcam from a nearby tractor-trailer.
Young suffered some minor wounds to his face and head. Troopers said Young’s 7-year-old son -- who was a passenger in the semi at the time -- suffered only a few scratches.
Both victims were taken to a hospital for treatment.
The crash is still under investigation.
