CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. -
The 2012 Armed Forces Soccer Championship will get underway next week at Camp Pendleton, base officials announced Friday.
An opening ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, followed by Marine Corps and Navy teams competing in the opening match at the Paige Fieldhouse Sports Complex, according to Camp Pendleton's public affairs office.
Games, which will be open to the public, are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Tickets are not required and attendees can watch from bleachers or another seating area, according to the event's website.
Teams from the Marine Corps, Army, Navy and Air Force will compete throughout the week and the top two will face off in a championship game scheduled for Sept. 30.
