John Harris picked the five regular numbers correctly and missed only the Mega number with a ticket he purchased at Randy's Mini Market, at 5739 El Cajon Blvd, according to state lottery officials.

They said Harris' prize was $520,054.

Five other tickets -- one each sold in Arkansas, Delaware, Illinois, Michigan and New York -- also had five numbers, but didn't have the Mega number and are each worth $250,000.

The winning numbers were 9, 17, 42, 36 and 14, with a Mega number of 33. No one won the top prize, which will be around $53 million for Tuesday night's drawing.

The Mega Millions game is played in 42 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
