SAN DIEGO -
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County fell today for the 14th consecutive day, dropping nine-tenths of a cent to $4.437.
The average price has dropped 28.8 cents over the past 14 days, including 4 cents on Sunday, after rising 54.7 cents over the previous six days to a record high of $4.725, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 20.3 cents less than one week ago, but 31 cents more than one month ago and 55.9 cents higher than one year ago.
The dropping pump price is the result of significant decreases to the price of wholesale gasoline, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
