Funding for a project supported by local congressman Duncan Hunter is being cut, 10News reported.

The DP2 plane, being developed by a La Jolla-based aerospace company, had received $63 million in taxpayer money over the past two decades, according to reports.

Hunter had tried to secure $6 million for the project next year.

However, at a hearing two months ago, the plane was dressed down for its inability to pass a major technical review.
