SANTEE, Calif. (KGTV) - Saturday was a hot one.

And Pastor Eric Rader, from New Life Christian Fellowship Church, was more than aware of this.

That's what led him to Cowels Mountain Saturday to hand out water to exhausted hikers, in order to promote good health and good will toward one's community.

He exercises this act of kindness because "one of the greatest principles we have is to love your neighbors as yourself."

Having worked as a reservist for the Sheriff's department, Rader also understands the dangerous risks of dehydration and heat exhaustion, especially on a hot day. He wants to ensure the hikers stay encouraged and hydrated.
