LEMON GROVE, Calif. - Two suspected drunken drivers were arrested at an overnight checkpoint in Lemon Grove, a sheriff's sergeant said.
More than 500 vehicles passed through the checkpoint in the 7900 block of Broadway near Lemon Grove Avenue between 8 p.m. Friday and 2:30 a.m. Saturday, according to sheriff's Sgt. Michelle McPhail.
In addition to the two drivers arrested for suspicion of drunken driving, sheriff's deputies cited 10 motorists with suspended or revoked licenses or without a license, McPhail said.
The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
