CHULA VISTA, Calif. - Lanes on a stretch of Interstate 805 in Chula Vista will be closed two overnights this week so construction crews can adjust temporary wood forms on the East Palomar Street overcrossing, Caltrans officials said Monday.
On Tuesday, two northbound lanes will be closed from Orange Avenue and Telegraph Canyon Road from 9 p.m. Tuesday to midnight. At 12 a.m. that night, all northbound lanes will be closed at Orange Avenue, and they will reopen at 5 a.m. Wednesday, according to Caltrans.
Starting at 9 p.m. Wednesday, two southbound lanes will be closed at Telegraph Canyon Road, Caltrans officials said. All southbound lanes between Telegraph Canyon Road and Orange Avenue will be closed from midnight to 5 a.m. Thursday.
Detours will be marked along Telegraph Canyon Road, the Medical Center Drive/Brandywine Avenue corridor, and the Olympic Parkway/Orange Avenue corridor.
Trucks will be detoured via Interstate 5 between Route 54 and Route 905.
Caltrans officials advised motorists to avoid the area, although detours will be in place. Residents in the area adjacent to the construction can expect construction noise and lights.
The work prompting the highway closures is part of the Interstate 805 South Express Lanes Project.
