LA MESA, Calif. - New moms at Sharp Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa received a special delivery this Mother's Day other than their newborn babies.
Hospital landscapers delivered flower arrangements to them on Sunday morning in honor of the holiday. The flowers used are grown on the hospital campus gardens, which the landscapers grow and maintain themselves.
"There's nothing better than seeing someone's face light up for flowers that we've grown ourselves and cut and put together, so it's a really good feeling," said landscape lead Rudy Sanchez . "This is our third year giving out flowers, and it's one of our favorite things to do."
Maryam, who gave birth on Saturday, told 10News, "It's very nice of them to have something… from the garden, something that will remind that they care about us."
The flower delivery is part of the hospital's "This Bud's For You" program, in which the landscaping team cuts flowers from the gardens and delivers them to hospital patients.
