La Mesa man wins $3.25M on scratcher game

LA MESA, Calif. - A La Mesa man won $3.25 million on a scratcher game this week, state lottery officials said Thursday.

Kevin Boson paid $5 for a California Lucky Life ticket at a 7-Eleven at 8747 La Mesa Blvd., according to the lottery.

"I go to all different stores when I buy tickets," Boson said. "I couldn't believe when I scratched (the ticket) off to reveal the 'LIFE' symbol."

Boson plans on buying another house and paying off a car.

The retired truck driver said he previously won $2,000 on a Daily 4 ticket and $1,000 on another scratchers ticket.

According to the lottery, the California Lucky Life game has six grand prize tickets, and Boson's was the first to be claimed.
