SAN DIEGO - San Diego police were on the lookout Tuesday for a man who robbed a Days Inn motel in downtown San Diego.

The man jumped over a counter and took money from a cash register at the business at 833 Ash St. around 8:30 p.m. Monday, according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.

He said he had a knife but no one was hurt, Delimitros said in a statement.

Police were looking for a white man around 6 feet 1 and 170 pounds, last seen wearing a hoodie, tan trench coat and blue jeans. He fled on foot southbound through the motel's parking lot, Delimitros said.
