SAN DIEGO - A JetBlue flight from New York landed safely at Lindbergh Field after being struck by lightning as it was on its way in for landing.

Flight 181 from John F. Kennedy International Airport was originally scheduled to land at Lindbergh Field at 11:36 a.m. but was already late prior to the lightning strike.

The plane landed at about 12:05 p.m.

No injuries were reported, and officials did not say exactly when the lightning strike occurred.

JetBlue issued the following statement regarding the incident:

"There was no significant damage to the aircraft and all customers deplaned safely. The aircraft is currently being inspected and will remain overnight as originally scheduled."
