The former mayor took two San Diego police officers to Paris to serve as security. Team 10 confirmed with San Diego police that those officers missed the flight to France and caught up with the mayor a day later.

At first, Filner was reluctant to say what he was doing in France.

Team 10 found he was at a pro Iranian Democracy Conference. Filner attended the conference multiple times as a congressman.

As mayor, Team 10 learned a private group paid for him to attend, which violated state gift laws for politicians.

Questions about whether the city paid for Filner's then-fiancée to accompany him to Paris have also now been answered. The audit showed the city did not pay for her trip.

Filner resigned his office at the end of August as he fought several scandals, including this one.

He has since been convicted of a felony for sexually harassing women while mayor.
