SAN DIEGO - Carl DeMaio has not ruled out running for mayor, according to his campaign manager.
“There is a meeting over the weekend among stakeholders to access the options,” said Jason Roe, DeMaio’s campaign manager.
The ex-city councilman lost the San Diego mayor's race to Bob Filner last year. Earlier this week, he called on local politicians to get behind a recall effort in a tangible way.
DeMaio said council members and legislators should sign petitions to recall Filner, help collect signatures and back the effort with money.
Filner gained 52 percent of the vote to defeat DeMaio in a runoff election last November.
Recently, DeMaio has been raising money for a congressional run against Rep. Scott Peters, D-San Diego, next year.
