The most recent of the blazes broke out on a hill near where East Main Street meets Old Highway 80 about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and was contained about a half-hour later, according to the Lakeside Fire Protection District. Some two acres were scorched but no injuries or loss of homes were reported.

On Sunday afternoon, the so-called Horse Fire burned about 12 acres of brush in Lakeside. It started on Crazy Horse Drive near Morning Dove Road about 2:15 p.m. and was contained roughly two hours later, Cal Fire Capt. Mike Mohler said.

While crews were still mopping up from the Horse Fire, a blaze dubbed the El Monte Fire broke out in El Monte Valley and blackened five acres before being contained, according to Mohler and Lakeside fire.

No one was injured and no structures were lost in either of Sunday's fires.
