CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - A motorcyclist was killed, and his wife who was riding with him was injured after a crash near Otay Lake.
The crash was reported just after 10:30 p.m. on Otay Lakes Road, near Wueste Road, according to authorities.
Authorities said the couple was riding on Otay Lakes Road when they struck something on the road, lost control of the bike and plummeted down an embankment.
The woman crawled up the embankment and flagged down passing motorists for help, telling them her husband was still down below.
Several good Samaritans searched for the man in the dark until emergency crews arrived. Crews then spotted the motorcycle wreckage and found the man, but he was declared dead at the scene.
The woman was taken to the hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
