Homicide detectives investigating after body found in Vista

VISTA, Calif. - Homicide detectives are investigating after a female body was found near a trash bin in Vista.

The incident was reported at about 4 p.m. Monday near North Santa Fe Avenue and Bobier Drive. Homicide investigators say the owner of EZ Express Laundromat first made the discovery while taking out the trash. The original call was for a suspicious package found near the trash bin.

When deputies arrived, they found the woman's body covered in plastic and buried under a pile of trash. Sheriff's officials would not comment on how long the body had been there and say it is too early to tell the woman's age or how she died.

"At this point we are just conducting a death investigation … right now, the cause and manner of death are unknown," said sheriff's Lt. Glenn Giannantonio.

The body, which was fully-clothed, did not appear to have any apparent wounds or injuries.

Detectives are investigating the incident as a suspicious death until autopsy results on Tuesday give more information on how the woman died.

Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers or the San Diego County Sheriff’s Homicide Detail.
