BURBANK, Calif. (KGTV) - Fire crews are close to knocking down a brush fire that came close to homes Wednesday in Burbank.
The fire is burning in the Verdugo Mountains, east of Interstate 5 and west of Starlight Bowl.
Los Angeles Fire Department sent in air and ground crews to battle the third-alarm fire burning near Hamlin Place. Los Angeles County Fire has also dispatched air support.
The fire was reportedly 70 to 80 percent contained as of 5:40 p.m
Mandatory evacuations were lifted just before 9 p.m.
Fire officials are now reporting that the fire is now somewhere between 70 to 80% contained
