CHULA VISTA, Calif. - A fire broke out Tuesday on the top floor of a two-story home in Chula Vista, leaving a resident suffering from smoke inhalation, authorities said.
The fire in the 1400 block of Carissa Court was reported at 1:04 a.m., according to a San Diego Fire-Rescue dispatcher. Crews had flames knocked down about 20 minutes later, she said.
Paramedics took the injured resident to UCSD Medical Center.
The cause of the fire was under investigation and a damage estimate pending. At least one person was displaced, according to the dispatcher.
