High-speed pursuit leads to 1 arrest

SAN DIEGO - A man led California Highway Patrol officers on a high-speed chase from Carlsbad to San Diego early Thursday.

The pursuit began at 1 a.m. when a CHP sergeant attempted to stop the man driving a Dodge Ram pickup truck at 110 MPH while on southbound Interstate 5 in Carlsbad, according to CHP.

The driver led CHP officers on a 20-minute pursuit through Interstate 805 and eastbound State Route 94 before stopping and running into a home located on the 1600 block of 49th Street in San Diego.

Officers detained the man with the help of a police K9 that bit him on his face and is being held for suspected felony evading and drunken driving, according to CHP.
