High-speed motorcycle chase ends in Spring Valley

SPRING VALLEY - Two motorcycles escaped and a third crashed after leading deputies on a high-speed chase in Spring Valley early Thursday morning.

 The incident began at about 1:30 a.m. when a San Diego County Sheriff’s sergeant attempted to stop the motorcycles in Lemon Grove. The bikers refused to stop, and a chase ensued into Spring Valley.

According to the sheriff’s department, two of the motorcyclists escaped northbound on State Route 125. However, the third crashed into a center median on the freeway onramp. The motorcycle operator, a man and a passenger, a woman, were thrown from the bike, but were not seriously hurt.

They were both taken to a local hospital for treatment. The operator is expected to face felony evading charges. The other two motorcyclists remain at large.
