SAN DIEGO - Two separate high-speed chases early Monday morning led to the arrest of one suspected drag racer, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The incident began when a patrol unit spotted multiple drag racers lining up on Kearny Villa Road, north of Interstate 163. Officers attempted to pull over a driver on Miramar Road but the driver sped southbound on Interstate 15. The driver crashed into the center divide at Kearny Villa Road but continued driving away from police.
A second high-speed chase ended with the driver losing control of the vehicle on the Kearny Villa off-ramp.
The high-speed chases led to one arrest, according to a police report.
Police said the location is a popular drag racing location due to the straightness of the roads and the lack of traffic at night.
