Hazmat team investigates containers dropped off at Chula Vista fire station

Containers contained shoe polish

CHULA VISTA, Calif. - Authorities investigated two containers dropped off at a Chula Vista fire station that were labeled "cyanide."

Chula Vista fire officials said a citizen was searching in a relative's shed and found the two containers. The citizen dropped the containers off at the fire station on Oxford Street near 4th Avenue.

Authorities cordoned off the area as part of their investigation.

A hazmat team tested the contents of the containers and found that they contained shoe polish.

No evacuations were ordered.
