Hannah Anderson's father Brett talks with 10News after learning his daughter was found safe

Brett Anderson: It's been emotional rollercoaster

Hannah Anderson's father Brett told 10News reporter Preston Phillips during a phone interview Saturday night that it was a complete shock to his system when he learned his 16-year-old daughter was found alive and unharmed in the rugged Idaho wilderness Saturday afternoon.

“Law enforcement blew in there and just you know ... Incredible job they did and it turned out for the best. I am an emotional wreck right now. I'm just looking forward to seeing her beautiful face back in my life," said Anderson.

Hannah's father said his daughter is now at a hospital in Idaho being fully check out by doctors.

He said he still hasn't been able to talk with her and doesn't expect he'll get the chance to until he sees her sometime Sunday.

“They haven't really updated me other than that she looks pretty good but I don't know what she's been through and we'll just have to wait and see,” said Anderson.

Anderson told Phillips he is waiting on a phone call from the FBI to let him know exactly when he'll be flying with them to Idaho to pick his daughter up.

“I think about my daughter and I'm happy and then I think about my son and my wife, I go down and then I'm nervous for what my daughter went through and I'm just an emotional rollercoaster right now,” said Anderson.

On Friday, five days after Hannah was kidnapped by longtime family friend James DiMaggio, Anderson received a call from America's Most Wanted host, John Walsh.

“He is a Godsend to me and I really appreciate everything he has told me and talked to me and this is somebody that everybody should really listen to because he knows what he's talking about,” said Anderson.

Walsh told Anderson that DiMaggio would keep Hannah alive due to the simple fact, he was infatuated with her and to stay in front of the media until Hannah was found.

“I said this is good news that Hannah is still alive that he's obsessed with her that he won't kill her and go on the run,” Walsh told CNN in an interview Friday.

“John Walsh is the most awesome person I've ever talked to and he has done a lot of guiding me and I'm sure there is still more to come,” said Anderson.
