Hal Clement Retires After 40 Years In Television News

After 40 years in local television, San Diego icon Hal Clement anchored his final newscast on Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Hal, who has won 14 local Emmy awards and five Southern California Golden Mike awards for his news coverage, has spent 40 years in San Diego and in that time has become a trusted and well-respected member of the community.

Aside from his time on-air spent delivering the news to local residents, he has been involved with the United Way, San Diego Burn Institute, and the Parkinson's Association. Hal has hosted the San Diego Hospice Annual "Light Up A Life" event for several years and has also co-hosted The Children's Hospital Miracle Network Telethon.

Hal's retirement will allow him to spend more time with his family and to pursue his passions, like golf and travel.
