Gunmen Who Robbed Vista Subway Sought

Robbery Occurred At Subway In 1000 Block Of South Santa Fe Avenue

Sheriff's deputies were on the lookout on Sunday for two gunmen who robbed a Subway sandwich shop in Vista.

One robber allegedly pointed a silver semiautomatic pistol at the clerk and demanded money from the register at about 8:05 p.m. Saturday at the restaurant in the 1000 block of South Santa Fe Avenue, Sheriff's Sgt. Hernan Gonzalez said.

The other robber grabbed an undetermined amount and the pair ran away.

No one was injured, Gonzalez said. No immediate arrests were made, despite a search that included dogs.

The robbers were both described Hispanic men who were wearing bandanas over their faces and were armed with pistols.

One was about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighed 250 pounds. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt. The other was about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighed 150 pounds. He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt.
