Police: Robber Wore Handkerchief Over Face, Flashed Gun At Cashier

San Diego police were on the lookout Tuesday for a gunman who wore a white handkerchief over his face while robbing a Kearny Mesa taco shop.

The robbery at Roberto's Taco Shop at 3755 Murphy Canyon Road was reported at 4:05 p.m. Monday, according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros. The robber walked in, flashed a gun and demanded money, he said in a statement.

He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in a black BMW occupied by another male, he said, adding that the pair headed southbound on Murphy Canyon Road.

Police described the gunman as white, in his 20s, around 5 feet 7 and 140 pounds, last seen wearing the white handkerchief over his face and a black baseball cap.
