SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego Gulls will open their second American Hockey League season Friday night, playing host to the Tucson Roadrunners at the Valley View Casino Center.

A limited number of tickets remained available as of Thursday afternoon, but a sellout is projected, according to Steve Brown, the Gulls communications manager.

All fans in attendance will receive a Gulls rally towel. Like for every Friday home game, Bud Light beers will be priced at $2 from 6-8:30 p.m.

The Gulls' 25-player roster includes six players who played in the NHL last season. Three of their players were first-round choices in the NHL draft.

The team's youngest player is 19-year-old center Julius Nattinen of Finland, a 2015 second-round choice of the Gulls NHL parent team, the Anaheim Ducks.

The oldest is 33-year-old defenseman Nate Guenin, who played 29 games with the NHL's Colorado Avalanche last season.

The roster consists of players from nine U.S. states, five Canadian provinces, two players from Finland and one from the Czech Republic.

The Gulls finished second in the league's seven-team Pacific Division last season, then defeated the Texas Stars in a Pacific Division semifinal series before losing to the Ontario Reign in the Pacific Division Final.

The Roadrunners, the Arizona Coyotes AHL affiliate, were last in the eight-team Atlantic Division last season when they were known as the Springfield Falcons.
