A local group has transported seven Chihuahuas to Pittsburgh, where they will be available for adoption.

The Chihuahua Rescue of San Diego group says Chihuahuas are one of the most overrepresented breeds in San Diego animal shelters. In other states where the breed is in short supply, there are waiting lists to get the small dogs.The rescue group coordinated with another nonprofit in Pittsburgh to fly several homeless dogs there.On Monday morning, the group drove the dogs from San Diego to Los Angeles International Airport, where the dogs were placed on a cargo plane bound for Pittsburgh.Copyright Do you have more information about this story?
