SAN DIEGO - The average price of gasoline in San Diego County decreased Monday for the 19th consecutive day, falling eight-tenths of a cent to $4.136 for a gallon of self-serve regular.

The average price has dropped 15.8 cents over the past 19 days and is 6.7 cents less than one week ago, 12 cents lower than last month and 22.8 cents below what it was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price had risen 28 of the 30 days preceding the streak of decreases, increasing 56.7 cents over that span.
Prices at the pump have been dropping because most California refineries have concluded scheduled maintenance without experiencing any major incidents before the switch to summer-blend production, leaving adequate gasoline supplies, said Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
