Gas leak near Horton Plaza repaired; busy shopping area reopens

SAN DIEGO - 10News has learned that a gas line break near Horton Plaza in downtown San Diego has been repaired and that Horton Plaza will be open for business.

The break at 4th and E Streets was first reported at 8:03 a.m. Tuesday and that San Diego Gas & Electric crews were able to control the gas by 8:55 a.m.

San Diego police and fire officials had blocked off the area as SDG&E crews worked to shut off the line. But the roadways have since been reopened.

10News reports that 10 gas customers are without service while SDG&E works to restore their service.

The break occurred when a construction crew hit the gas line.
