SAN DIEGO -  

Residents in a south San Diego apartment complex were briefly evacuated Tuesday due to a gas leak.

The leak was reported shortly before 11:30 a.m. at the Casoleil Apartments at Dennery Road and Del Sol Boulevard, according to authorities.

Authorities told 10News a construction crew accidentally severed a 1-inch polyurethane gas line.

Eight people were evacuated while crews worked to repair the broken line.

The repairs were made at about 12:20 p.m., and residents were being allowed back into their homes at about 12:30 p.m.
