Chula Vista police are investigating a fourth sexual assault they believe is linked to three others in the area within the last few weeks.
An 18-year-old South Bay resident said she is alarmed.
Patriss Rae told 10News, "I don't even feel safe in my own neighborhood."
Police said they believe the attacker is the same person who committed three other similar assaults in early March.
"This individual is not afraid to strike in the middle of the day," said Bernard Gonzales.
The fourth assault happened Saturday afternoon at East Palomar Street near Brandywine Avenue, police said.
A 16-year-old girl was walking to her car with four other teenagers when the attack took place, according to police.
Police said they fear the attacker might resort to violence.
Last week, South Bay school officials sent home a letter to students from Eastlake middle and high schools that warned of the recent assaults.
Residents told 10News they are glad word is getting out.
An informational meeting on the series of assaults will be held Monday night at 6:30 at Arroyo Vista Charter School. The school is located at 2491 School House Road in Chula Vista. City officials and Chula Vista Police will brief residents and answer questions.
