SAN DIEGO - Dense fog blanketed San Diego County coastal areas early Tuesday, leaving drivers with sharply reduced visibility at times.

"Along the I-5 and I-805, you could run into some pockets of sharply reduced visibility even down to a quarter of mile at times," said 10News Weathercaster Robert Santos. "Check your flight out of Lindbergh Field in case there are delays."

Today's Forecast: Foggy morning, warm day

The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory for coastal areas through 8 a.m. A shallow marine inversion and weak onshore flow near the coast will bring areas of dense fog over the coastal waters extending locally inland through early this morning," according to the NWS.

In addition to the driving hazard, the fog could possibly delay flights at Lindbergh Field in the early morning, according to the NWS.
