SAN DIEGO - A U.S. Coast Guard cutter crew recovered more than 3,000 pounds of marijuana floating off the coast of San Diego, the agency announced Friday.
The marijuana, which was divided in bales wrapped in plastic, was found Wednesday some 35 miles west of Mission Beach, according to USCG Petty Officer 3rd Class Connie Gawrelli.
The Navy, along with Customs and Border Protection, helped recover the drugs, she said.
