EL CAJON, Calif. - Trolley service has been restored after firefighters put out a small brush fire near trolley tracks in El Cajon.
Multiple people called 911 after seeing arcing power lines near Murray Drive and El Cajon Boulevard at about 10 a.m. It sparked a small brush fire near the trolley tracks.
Trolley service in the area was stopped for a short while for the firefighters' safety. They were able to put the fire out in 15 minutes.
No injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation.
At one point, nearly 1,400 customers had lost power. Firefighters also say there was an outage near a school about a quarter of a mile away. They are not sure if that is related to the incident.
