Firefighters knock down Coronado house fire

CORONADO, Calif. - Firefighters on Saturday have knocked down a house fire in Coronado.

The two-alarm fire started at about 2 p.m. in the garage of a home in the 300 block of A Avenue and quickly spread to the rest of the home. Thick black smoke could be seen from downtown San Diego.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries at the scene of the fire have been reported. One officer was hospitalized due to the heat.

Traffic on the Coronado Bridge heading into Coronado was reopened after being temporarily stopped. 

As of about 6:30 p.m., all nearby roadways have been reopened.
